According to the police, Nagarani appeared to be normal and was happily chatting with her friends at the hostel after breakfast on Sunday morning. Later, at around 11 am, she went to her room telling her friends that she would meet them for lunch after washing her clothes and doing some personal work.

However, she did not come out of her room for a long time. At around 2 pm, one of her friends, who grew suspicious, informed the hostel in-charge. The hostel authorities immediately informed the police and took her to a nearby private hospital, where she was declared brought dead. However, the exact details of how she died are yet to be ascertained, said the police.

The police suspects that the incident could have taken place sometime between 12.30 to 2 pm. The JB Nagar police has registered a case of unnatural death and sent samples of her organs to the Forensic Science Laboratory. Her body was handed over to her family after post-mortem, police said. The body is expected to reach Hyderabad by 10 pm. Nagarani’s father, T. Nagaraju, is a trader living near Hanuman temple. Nagarani studied in Mallareddy College.
