Mother likely in Rajasthan: Police

The Delhi police is close to nabbing the mother of the two-year-old battered Baby Falak who is fighting for her life at AIIMS Trauma Centre since her admission on January 18. Sources in the Delhi police said that the baby’s mother apparently lives in some interior district of Rajasthan.
“The investigation points the finger to a lady in Rajasthan. The lady hails from a poor family in Bihar and she might be a victim of human trafficking in Rajasthan,” said a police official on condition of anonymity. However, a senior official denied having any such information.
Meanwhile, Falak has been put back on ventilator as she developed breathing problem, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) doctors said. Her condition is said to stable. She was taken off the ventilator on Friday.
“She had breathing problem since Saturday night. We have put her back on ventilator support. We are constantly monitoring her condition,” assistant professor, neurosurgery, AIIMS Trauma Centre, Deepak Agrawal told reporters here.
The doctors has earlier declared that chances of her survival are only 50 per cent. She is also suffering from meningitis.
The baby was admitted in AIIMS in serious condition with human bite marks all over her body.
A 14-year-old girl had admitted her to the hospital claiming to be her mother. The police has arrested four persons so far in this case so far.
