Grilled Acharya gets Nims fever

Once again, a VIP accused in a high-profile case has been shifted to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences after being arrested. Home secretary and senior IAS official B.P. Acharya, who was arrested on Monday, was shifted to Nims on Tuesday after he complained of chest pain. Nims officials said that the ECG and preliminary medical tests showed that Acharya’s vital parameters were normal and there was no cause for concern.

Earlier, Koneru Prasad who is also an accused in the same case had been referred to Nims for tests. CBI officials had interrogated Acharya till 5 pm on Tuesday but had failed to get any details regarding the case.

Nimsa director Dr Dharma Rakshak said, “He was referred to us to find out whether he had a heart ailment. Cardiologists are conducting investigations. There is another test that will be conducted on Wednesday morning. So far, he is normal.” Acharya had undergone an angiogram recently at Care Hospital and Nims officials have asked for the CDs and pictures of the angiogram. Senior cardiologist Dr Seshagiri is supervising the tests. Accompanied by CBI officials, Acharya was brought to Nims emergency ward at 5.30 pm after he complained of sweating, palpitations and chest discomfort. He was later shifted to the ICCU.

Common problem for all VIP's once they are grilled by CBI. NIMS is the only place for their rescue, where they will be kept under observation for months together and the case will be lingered on without any progress.
