I’m a secular man, says Rannvijay Singh

I find peace when I am alone and not surrounded by people.

Thus, I best connect with the power I believe in and myself when I am riding a motorbike or staying at a resort or when there are no worries about paying bills or doing something urgent. I am a very secular person at heart, and am proud of the religious and spiritual beliefs I have.

Since childhood, I have worshipped Guru Nanak Dev, and consequently whenever I close my eyes I see Him. I also go to a gurudwara once a week, but there is no guilt if I fail to do so because of my hectic work and travel schedule or due to other reasons. This doesn’t make me unreligious.

I am a great believer in karma and believe that one must do good work to give one’s life a balance.

I don’t believe that God is someone who can solve all my problems. I think problems are necessary for a human being, as these make an individual realise the value of good and happy times.
