The management wizards of IIM Kozhikode are busy drawing plans for the Calicut Mini Marthon to be held on February 5. The marathon has been organised with the Pain and Palliative Care Society.

“We need to bring about an awareness of pain. We have already started the registration process for the event in the college campus. From next week onwards, an online registration will be started with stalls at RP mall and Focus mall for registration,” said N.

Arun Kumar, marathon executive team member. “We have decided to donate a certain amount,” said Arun.

“This year we have decided to market the marathon in an extensive way. We will try to raise a fund of `11 lakh. Large hoardings will be installed and there will be extensive media coverage.

Last year about 4,500 people took part in the mini marathon and it was a huge success. This year we expect more people to join.

IIM K is the only IIM in India which is conducting a marathon. Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor will inaugurate the event,” Arun concluded.
