Worry no more about nature's calls while traveling across the state. A quick look on the internet or mobile phone, and you know the location of the nearest e-toilet.
The facility will be operational, partly, in the next couple of weeks.
The Eram Scientific Solutions, which developed the e-toilets, is introducing the new technology — Kerala Connected Toilet Infrastructure.
So far, about 150 e-toilets have been set up across the state. Another 300 will become operational in a year, a statement from Eram said.
Once the new facility is introduced, people on the road or other public places will be able to locate the nearest e-toilet using PIN code or other location details.
This online integration will also provide details of the coins collected, as also the water and power usage of the units. A control room facility to provide any assistance on e-toilets would also be introduced soon,it said.
“The system is developed on the lines of similar systems in Australia, Korea etc,” said the statement. The e-toilets are installed at public places in the state with the supports of governmental and non-government agencies.
