It’s love-all for Bengaluru huduga Rohan Bopanna. Shortly after close friend and team mate Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi decided to tie the knot, Rohan is set to go down the same road.
The eligible and handsome Coorgi boy is all set to wed 24-year-old Bengaluru girl Supriya Annaiah, who also hails from the same community.
Hailing from an Army background, Supriya is currently pursuing her degree in counselling. Prior to this, she was working as a special educator for children with special needs. Apparently, the young couple dated for a while before going public with their relationship.
“She went to the Chennai Open recently with him, and everyone was talking about Rohan’s new love interest,” says one of our sources.
When we tried to contact Supriya, she was tight-lipped about her relationship with Bopanna, but friends say they are very happy together.
“They have known each other for a long time before they decided to get engaged,” adds a friend who wishes to be anonymous, “Supriya is a bubbly, spirited and cheerful girl, and is very social.” The couple got engaged in December last after Rohan proposed romantically to Supriya at a five-star hotel in the city.
Rohan has been doing extremely well in tennis- his recent partnership with new daddy Mahesh Bhupathi has proven to be fruitful. The new Indian Express won the second round of the Australian Open Men’s doubles. Due to the tennis ace’s professional commitments, there is no clarity yet as to when the duo will settle down.
“Besides, Supriya too is pursuing her further studies and is very focused about that now. They will finalise their wedding plans very soon,” confirms a source. Here’s to new beginnings and partnerships, both professional and personal.
