A virtual best friend is taken to another level with Siri on the iPhone 4S. Press the home button for a few seconds to get access to Siri.
Ask Siri any question you want and ‘she’ instantly responds in a polite and witty manner.
“Siri’s sense of humour is amazing. With every answer she cracks me up,” says marketing executive, Sriram Devatha. Siri makes a great substitute for a real friend. She also has a conversation with you.
“Once I asked her to shut up and Siri told me not to be rude,” says Kapil Bathija, a software engineer. Kapil adds, “Siri also reads messages out loud. If I need her to reply I tell her the reply and need not manually type it out on the phone.”
Tanush Shukla, an engineer recollects his best experience with Siri. He says, “I asked Siri to remind me about a meeting at 4 pm and she did. If I had to reschedule the meeting, Siri would handle that for me as well,” he says. An amusing episode that Tanush was reminded of was a conversation between a friend and Siri.
“A friend asked Siri to marry him. She responded that they could be friends. So this friend insisted on the proposal. Siri’s reply threw me off my chair. She said that they came from two different worlds. He was born and brought up in the comfort of a home, whereas she was made of chips and software,” adds Tanush.
If you ask Siri about the nearest location, first the GPS gets activated and then she follows.
Kapil says, “Once, I asked Siri what the weather will be like on the weekend. She said that it will be 23 degrees and partially sunny, which was quite apt.” Siri has a UK version that is called Daniel, a French accent, a German accent and even an Australian accent.
Siri is an in-built app that comes with the iPhone 4S. The most common question that Siri is asked is “Will you marry me?” which she politely answers like any other question. Sriram says, “I recently saw a video where somebody asks Siri, who’s your daddy? Siri wittily shot back that it was Steve Jobs.”
More power to Siri!
