Varun Sandesh had become a bankable actor, but the debacle of his last film Priyudu pushed his stocks further down and producers are now wary to approach him. Apparently, he has joined hands with National Award-winning director Neelakanta to revive his sagging fortunes. “It’s a tasteful commercial entertainer with good doses of romance, comedy and other ingredients in the correct measures,” says the director, who won rave reviews for his last film Virodhi. With the director willing to move out of his off-beat zone and trying to find his place among mainstream film-makers, it looks like Varun has a winner on hand. Let’s see whether this director can change Varun’s fate in 2012.
