C’GARH trying to intimidate paper, says ins

Alleging that the Chhattisgarh government was trying to intimidate the newspaper Patrika, the Indian Newspaper Society on Tuesday stated that the Raman Singh government should desist from such acts. INS president Ashish Bagga stated that the body condemned the “attempts” being made by the Chhattisgarh government to intimidate Patrika, reportedly to suppress reportage about chief minister Raman Singh and relatives.
In a statement, the INS chief stated that the filing of 40 to 50 criminal cases against the newspaper “seems aimed clearly at intimidating the newspaper”. Many of these cases have reportedly been filed in Naxal-infested and remote Bastar district of the state.

“So far as the two Houses of Parliament are concerned, public opinion has been unanimous that both our party leaders Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley have always made outstanding contributions to the deliberations of Parliament,” Mr Advani wrote in the blog which he resumed after the completion of the Janchetna Yatra and Winter Session of Parliament.
