‘Dancing touches my soul’

‘Dancing touches my soul’

When I dance I don’t notice people around me or anything else. I dance for myself with full enthusiasm and zest. Dancing touches my soul. When I was in Delhi, I was training to be in Shiamak Davar’s troupe. But then I moved to Mumbai for further studies and didn’t pursue my passion. Fortunately, now I am in the television industry and feel blessed to reconnect myself with dancing. It re-energises me completely.

I am also passionate about writing down my thoughts. I try to play with words. Though I don’t define myself as a writer, these days I am trying my hand at writing short stories. I also have a television script in mind. When I write, I don’t have to make an effort. It comes naturally and helps me unwind. Watching films too is my biggest stressbuster. It not only helps release stress but as an actor it helps me learn about the craft. I carry my laptop on the sets and catch up movies in between breaks. I like to read non-fiction books and carry my books with me. I am currently reading Guru Dutt’s autobiography.

Ridhi is a TV actor.
As told to Surbhi Tandon
