Happy to follow rules

Being one of the most respected educational institutes, Loyola College comes with a load of expectations and a few assumptions. But what makes the college unique is that it meets all the great expectations, while proving scathing assumptions wrong. In fact, the best of Loyola culture stems from this, assert the students. “Loyola is not as conservative as people believe. We have rules, but we have freedom as well. Most colleges promise all-round development, but the only one that delivers on this promise is my college,” says Nishant Joseph, final year B.Com student and Head Boy of the college. He adds, “The institute offers a common ground for a lot of students from varied back grounds. We mingle with people of all wavelengths from different streams, unlike in an engineering college.”

The Head Boy and the Head Girl are the most popular kids on the block. As to the popular hangouts, it ranges from the humble Sree Bakery right outside the college, to the Cafe Latte, Trimulgherry. Sakina Hamza, a mass communications student, loves the canteen and the greenery that adds to the college ambience. But it’s the opportunity to discover hidden talents and passions that the college provides that she values. “We have a long list of clubs, campaigns, fests and extra curricular activities. Also, the teachers and the college staff on the whole are very friendly,” she adds.
