Now lodge water complaints on FB

There was a time when one would have to make numerous calls to the Water Board to get problems resolved.

However, in an attempt to streamline things, that too at no cost, Adhar Sinha, the managing director of the Water Board, decided to make good use of Facebook.

The Board now has a page on the popular networking site where people can lodge complaints. What is more, these complaints are actually getting looked into by the officials.

Besides, the response from the citizens has been overwhelming. Shonita Joshi, a private employee, posted on the page saying, “I saw a pipe leaking in my colony. I registered a complaint on the Board’s Facebook page and within a few minutes officials replied saying that the complaint will be solved. They also gave me a complaint registration number. Within a day, the pipe was repaired.”

Officials said that the facility is mainly to interact with consumers, and they invited consumers to post feedback and suggestions also on the page. The page can be accessed by going to fb@hyderabadwater.gov.in.
