Nellore, jan. 22: While Telangana leaders are obstructing the screening of films with Andhra heroes on lead in their region, staunch supporters of unified state movement welcomed the release of a film with Telangana hero Nitin on the lead at Nellore on Friday.

In yet another novel protest in the lines of Munnabhai’s Gandhigiri technique, the Congress leaders of the district distributed sweets to the audience and burst crackers on the occasion of the release of Seetha Ramula Kalyanam Lankalo film on Friday.

“The hero of the film, Nitin belongs to Telangana and we can also opt for vandalism like Telangana Rashtra Samiti leaders. They have damaged the theaters, burnt the cutouts of Junior NTR and also threatened the public against watching his film, Adhurs during its release recently under the pretext that the hero belongs to Andhra. We are against such culture and want TRS leaders to understand that art and artists are beyond any barriers and they have nothing to do with agitations,” the PCC secretary and supporter of unified state, Mr Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, said.

Party cadres decorated the cutout of Nitin with a garland at Kalyani theatre here on Friday before the start of the morning show and performed puja wishing for the success of the film.

They have also urged the film goers to make it a successful film.

Stressing that Telugu film industry is in dire straits because of the warnings by TRS leaders, the Congress leaders hoped that their demonstration would become an eye opener for their counterparts in TRS.

It may be recalled that Congress functionaries of the district have been popularising Gandhigri during the ongoing agitation for unified state.

They have sent Arisalu and Laddus to Telangana leaders reacting to the threats against Andha people living in Hyderabad before Sankranti festival.

Sometime back, they have also served Biryani to people of Telangana origin travelling on National Highway-5 after stopping the vehicles prompted by attacks on Andhra vehicles in the capital by TRS cadres.

It is not the Telangana people who are attacking the theatres and damaging the businesses. It is the henchmen of KCR and his family.

It is the Central government that made a totally unworthy KCR important since few years. Now the jobless politicians jumped into the fray for future gains. Emotions roused,an utopia created in minds. All TELUGU speaking people will suffer and will be loosers and others will gain in the finale. It is all a pitious situation. GOD help

In that case, I urge all fellow Telanganites to protest the riots, strive for a united Telugu state and fight for development in their areas instead. I am sure the silent majority of Telangana people are fed up with this circus. Do not fear KCR, his goons or the hatred-spewing minority which are holding the majority to ransom.
