Panaji: Was the Margao blast Goa's brush with Hindutva terrorism or it was just an act of two individuals, who coincidently had connection with the Hindu Right wing organisation? On record, Sanatan Saunstha has distanced itself from blast in the Margao town on the eve of Diwali festival.
But the police investigations have revealed that whatever amount of defence presented by the organisation, the Ashram at Ramnathi, a hub of Saunstha's activities, cannot remain aloof from the blasts.
"We have found certain objectionable material during the raid at Ashram. I can't divulge anything right now but we have seized certain things," Superintendent of Police (PRO) Atmaram Deshpande told reporters on Saturday.
Deshpande's veiled information came hours after a team of police led by North Goa Superintendent of Police Bosco George raided Sanatan's palatial Ashram at Ramnathi village near temple town of Ponda, 20 km away from Panaji.
Police sources confirmed that some gadgets, similar to that confiscated from the blast site, were found in the ashram, which at the time of the raid housed 161 people. A blast in Goa's commercial capital town of Margao had rocked the state on the eve of Diwali. While two persons, owing allegiance to Sanatan Saunstha, were killed in the blast, police had defused three bombs at different parts of the state.
The 19-year-old Saunstha, which has spread its tentacles across the state, was under scanner after the blasts. "We condemn the act. It is the unfortunate incident and we are cooperating with the police in their investigations," the press release issued by Saunstha read. The press note, which appeals the media not to jump to the gun while probe is on, does not speak anything about the two suspects, who died in the explosion.
"You cannot hold two members responsible in isolation if they are part of organisation's doctrine," Deshpande said. Police, however, were quick enough to add that not all the members present in the ashram might know about the bombs. "There must be a core group which was working within," the PRO said.
This is not the first time that Sanatan has a brush with the activities related to terrorism. In 2008, Anti terrorism squad of Maharashtra police had arrested six accused for the involvement in planting Intensive Explosive device (IED) at the auditoriums in Thane, Vashi and a movie theatre in Panvel. The hand of Sanatan Saunstha along with its like-minded organization 'Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS)' was suspected in it.
In Goa's case, HJS has completely distanced itself from the blasts. "If media is linking HJS to blasts than they should resist themselves from spreading false news," HJS' Goa convenor Jayesh Thali said. — PTI

Has every one forgot about Malegaon blast done by the Sadhvi and Simi was framed by them. Lt Col Prasad Purohit (another accused) told the ATS that there are many persons like him who want to remove minorities from their nation.

If the so called "Hindutva" forces were behind this, they would have done more damage and changed the face of India once for all during the BJP led NDA (which didn't happen). So how come these groups are presumed to do this now? Something's really fishy!

This kind of false premises would be more harmful than good, as Hindus don't have to do all this as a splinter group as they are already a majority bu huge margin. Well again why would a so-called Hindu organization choose Deepavali to do this...? Well some people must be really eager to start pointing fingers just to keeps their false egos afloat...Hope DC posts this unlike few other which have either been truncated or not posted for some unknown reason...viva freedom of expression.

Here we go again. It's nothing about Muslims. now it's all about Hindus and very existence of Hindu right wing activities going around in India. How many times govt at Centre and state need evidence to bring them to justice? These right wing groups had easily manipulated and blamed minorities for every bomb blast all over India. As such every thing is crystal clear now. The is on the media as well as govt. Powerless should'nt be persecuted anymore and stop demonising the minority community. These anti social elements should be crushed. Every common man wants safer and prosperous India.

Dear Pavan, you could be right on Shahed. but the same thing works vice versa as well. According to you Shahed's comments are quite harsh and painful but in reality this is the bitter truth. In case these bombs had exploded in the crowded marketplace where our beloved brothers & sisters were shopping for Diwali, then the story & reaction would be entirely in negative and different. (Muslim terrorists strike again-blah-blah-blah). I hope you understand Shahed's concern now. Our great country is democratic & secular. journalism should be neat & clean and not in a favour or against of a particular community.

How long have you been readying to say that? Again, media especially the liberal left would incriminate even an anonymous fellow doing a personal misadventure to paint him with his religion if he is from the majority and paint him innocent and framed if he is from a minority community? Wah media spin!
Well some people would not stomach the idea that RSS and Bajrangdal don't have to do a misadventure like this and that too on a Hindu festival day...this is a text book example of minority appeasement at any cost even by creating a new outfit and forcibly calling Hindu, just to appease a select few!

We are just acting like a cat who thinks no one is watching if it closes its eyes. Why would the police frame ths Hindu outfit. Let them do their job and please stop supporting these terrorists of whatever religion they are from.
