Statues of Jesus and Mary damaged in B'lore

Unidentified persons damaged two statues of Jesus and Mary besides breaking the window panes of a church in Anekal taluk in Bengaluru on Thursday, police said.

"The incident occurred in on Thursday morning. The miscreants broke the window panes of SFS church and also damaged the statues of Infant Jesus and Mother Mary on the roadside just outside the church," police said.

The home minister, Mr V.S. Acharya, described it as a "minor incident" and said the case would be investigated.

Similar incidents of attacks on churches had occurred in the state last year.
