New Delhi, March 10: The Rajya Sabha witnessed an uproar during the discussion on the Railway Budget on Wednesday when the Union railway minister, Ms Mamata Banerjee, left the House briefly, apparently peeved by a Congress MP’s remark that some Cabinet ministers were “not obeying” discipline of the government.

This gave an opportunity to the BJP to take a dig at Ms Banerjee and demanded her presence in the House.

Though the Congress MPs pointed out that minister of food processing industries, Mr Subodh Kant Sahay, is present in the House, the senior BJP leader, Mr S.S. Ahluwalia, insisted that the railway minister’s presence in the House is required for the discussion to proceed.

Mr Ahluwalia said Ms Banerjee is peeved over the remarks made by the Congress member.
