Jaipur: People in Sanganger town, where IOC depot had gone up in flames, on Thursday experienced "black rain" as suspended particles in the air precipitated on their vehicles and clothes on Thursday morning.
People and students found a layer of black and sticky particles on their woollens and vehicles. Some dark coloured layers was also spotted with precipitation on the roof-tops, and in the rainy water.
"Atleast the suspended particles in air will settle down with the rainfall, and sky will be clear when sun shines," a Met official said.
An official of the state pollution control board requesting anonymity said, "These particles should not be harmful to anyone. People will have to clean the clothes and wash their vehicles with fresh water or soap."
