P Chidambaram didn't do anything for Tamil Nadu, now spreads wrong info: BJP

According to Dr Tamilisai certain political parties misconstrued the good ties between the BJP government at the Centre.

Chennai: The BJP took strong exception to former Union minister P. Chidambaram for allegedly supporting Kashmirs in their demand for autonomy and charged that when in power, he had not done anything for Tamil Nadu. But, as his party is not in power now, he was spreading canard about Jammu & Kashmir or elimination of black money, claimed BJP state president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan.

“When in power as finance minister, Chidambaram didn't do anything for TN but he is now spreading wrong information about Kashmir or elimination of black money,” Dr Tamilisai said on Monday. Recently, pitching for greater autonomy for Jammu & Kashmir, Mr Chidambaram had said his interactions with people had led him to conclude that “when Kashmiris ask for azadi, mostly, I am not saying all... the overwhelming majority... want autonomy.”

Taking strong exception to Chidambaram who had also been the home minister, BJP national secretary H. Raja tweeted: “PC's statement backing separatists in Kashmir is condemnable. Good that Congress has distanced itself from PC's rattlings.”

According to Dr Tamilisai certain political parties misconstrued the good ties between the BJP government at the Centre and the AIADMK government in the state as “interference by the Centre.” “But it is not so. The situation does not warrant any interference by the Centre. The state government is functioning independently. The Centre has been maintaining good ties with the states to ensure more development,” Dr Tamilisai said.

Those who cannot digest the Centre's good intention have taken up a misinformation information campaign that the Centre is dominating the TN government, she said and asserted that the BJP's sole objective is TN's prosperity.
