KC Ramamurthy files papers for Rajya Sabha from BJP

Mr Ramamurthy resigned from the RS on October 16 and subsequently joined the BJP in the presence of party President Amit Shah.

Bengaluru: Former IPS officer turned politician K.C. Ramamurthy, who recently joined the BJP deserting the Congress, filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha seat vacated by him, here on Friday.

Mr Ramamurthy resigned from the RS on October 16 and subsequently joined the BJP in the presence of party President Amit Shah in New Delhi.

The party central leadership had assured him the Rajya Sabha ticket soon after he joined the BJP and as promised, announced his candidature a few days back.

State BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel, Union Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda, BJP RS members Rajiv Chandrashekar and Prabhakar Kore, MP Shobha Karandlaje, Revenue Minister R. Ashok and A. Narayanaswamy were present.
