BS Yeddyurappa denies Shobha hand in party affairs

Yeddyurappa said, There is no such thing, Shobha is a general secretary and committed worker of the party.

Bengaluru: Unmoved by the demand of several leaders for a change in the party office bearers announced, BJP state president, B.S.Yeddyurappa asserted on Wednesday there would be no revision of the lists made.

“The lists have been prepared after consultation with all the important functionaries. It is generally accepted that the state executive committee is representative in character. The lists of the district presidents and chiefs of various morchas are prepared after various levels of consultation. So the question of changing them does not arise. It is natural for people to aspire for posts, but it is not possible to accommodate everyone at a time,” Mr Yeddyurappa told reporters here.

As for the criticism about the “growing interference by senior leader, Shobha Karandlaje in party affairs, Mr. Yeddyurappa said, “There is no such thing, Shobha is a general secretary and committed worker of the party.”

A meeting of state office bearers, presidents of various morchas and district presidents will be held on July 2 to discuss organisational matters and chalk out agitations against the state government, he revealed.

Referring to the problems of arecanut growers in the state, Mr Yeddyurappa said Union Commerce and Industries Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman had promised to look into their demands and do her best to meet them.
