KC Venugopal rains down on Youth Congress

AICC Gen Secy lost his cool after getting information about activities of outgoing KPYCC president'

Bengaluru: After receiving a series of complaints against former Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (KPYCC) president Rizwan Arshad from various party leaders, AICC general secretary, K.C. Venugopal reportedly rapped him on the knuckles asking him to mend his ways before it was too late.

Charges of the Youth Congress polls being rigged, have been flying high after the victory of Basanagouda Bardarli, who is perceived to be a close confidante of Arshad, with several leaders of the youth wing reportedly venting their ire before Venugopal during his four-day stay in the city.

Sources said many senior leaders too endorsed the allegations levelled by them.

Although Arshad met Venugopal more than three times, it was during his last visit that the latter gave him a tongue-lashing.”

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, a senior leader disclosed that Venugopal was upset as he had gathered information from various quarters about Arshad’s activities in the last six years as KPYCC president, which were far from satisfactory according to him.

“This was the main reason for Venugopal to lose his cool when he met Arshad,” the source explained.

The source added that Venugopal after giving him a earful for misleading him during earlier visits, advised the Congress MLC to mend his ways before opportunities start slipping away from him.
