Mysuru: Former minister V. Srinivasprasad announced that the would be joining BJP at the party’s office in Bengaluru on January 2. Congress leader C Basavegowda too announced that he would join the BJP along with Mr Prasad.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, Mr Srinivasprasad said, “I have elicited the opinion of the general public through Swabhimana Samaveshas held at Nanjangud, Chamarajnagar and T Narsipura. As per the aspiration of the people I am joining BJP,” he declared.
Attacking Mr Siddaramaiah for his statement that the followers of Buddha and Basava should not join BJP, he said, “What does Siddaramaiah know about Buddha, Basava and secularism? Has he read about Ambedkar? He could not resolve the issue of granting a crematorium to the Dalits at Kuppegala village and he talks about social justice.” he said.
