Take criticism in positive manner, says Ramesh Chennithala

The controversy was created by the media by concocting the leaders' views, he added.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala has stepped in to contain the fallout of the war of words between Mr K. Muraleedharan MLA and his detractors over the failure of the Opposition to put up a credible fight against the state and central governments’ failures on various fronts. Mr Ramesh Chennithala told reporters here on Tuesday that the criticisms by Mr Muraleedharan, a senior leader, should be taken positively.“Muraleedharan’s good intentions are being questioned. He wants to strengthen the UDF and his comments should be taken positively,” he said.

He had found nothing wrong in the speech made by Mr Muraleedharan coinciding with K. Karunakaran’s memorial programme in Kozhikode on Friday. The controversy was created by the media by concocting the leaders’ views, he added. The UDF will act positively on the remarks made by Mr Muraleedharan and Muslim League leader E. T. Mohammed Basheer on the functioning of the front, he said. Differences of opinion were natural in a coalition. “The next meeting of the UDF here on January 3 will plan the agitations to be launched against the LDF government. Power Minister M. M. Mani, the second accused in the Anchery Baby murder case, should resign. The CPM central leadership’s silence on the issue is surprising,” he added.
