Jolt to YSRC: Giddi Eswari set to join Telugu Desam

Ms Eswari won the Paderu Assembly election on a YSRC ticket in 2014 elections by 26,141 votes majority.

Visakhapatnam: The YSR Congress headed for another jolt in Vizag Agency as another YSRC’s MLA Giddi Eswari, representing Paderu (ST constituency) from Vizag district, will be joining the ruling Telugu Desam on Monday in the presence of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati. Sources in YSRC said that though three leaders of YSRC has tried to convince Ms Eswari on Sunday, she ignored their suggestion and decided to join the TD. Ms Eswari won the Paderu Assembly election on a YSRC ticket in 2014 elections by 26,141 votes majority.

In Vizag district, YSRC won at three Assembly (Paderu (ST), Araku Valley (ST) and V Madugula) segments and Araku (ST) Parliamentary segment. If Eswari joins TD on Monday, YSRC’s strength will reduce to one (Budi Mutyala Naidu of V Madugula) in Vizag district as Araku Valley MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao joined TD and Araku MP Kothapalli Geetha has been supporting TD only. Sources said that Ms Eswari has expressed displeasure over YSRC leaders’ planning to give Araku Valley MLA ticket to Kumbha Ravi Babu and Paderu MLA ticket to Pasupuleti Balaraju in the 2019 elections, Ms Eswari has suggested the YSRC to give Araku Valley MLA ticket to Setti Palghuna and she has differences with Kumbha Ravi Babu and Pasupuleti Balaraju.

Talking to a section of media Giddi Eswari has claimed that YSRC has ignored her long-standing loyalty to the party and hard work. Ravi Babu is from the Yerukula tribe and is not from one among the hill tribes, though I have pointed out to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Vijay Sai Reddy and Ramakrishna Reddy, they didn’t consider my suggestions, she added. However, Ms Eswari is yet to announce that she would join TD but YSRC leaders said Eswari is all set to join TD for her selfish need only as she is eyeing for the Girijan Cooperative Corporation chairperson post and she would get crores of rupees from TD, they added.
