KTR to Kishan: Influence party to clear Telangana projects

He also came down heavily on BJP MLAs G. Kishan Reddy, K. Laxman and Chithala Ramachandra Reddy.

Hyderabad: IT minister K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday slammed the BJP and NDA government, accusing them of standing in the way of the development of Telangana state.

He also came down heavily on BJP MLAs G. Kishan Reddy, K. Laxman and Chithala Ramachandra Reddy, asking them to exercise their influence within the party to bring more projects to TS from the Centre and not to block projects like Pharma City by asking the Centre to deny approvals.

“Pharma City will be the world’s largest pharma park, spread over 19,000 acres. I agree with the BJP MLAs’ argument that the pharma industry causes pollution. But in Pharma City we will use world-class technology to ensure zero liquid discharge. The world’s top consultants had been roped in to prepare the master designs. Why will we allow Pharma City to pollute the city and its surroundings? We are more concerned about pollution than you are. For this reason, we are shifting all the bulk drug companies from the city to the outskirts,” Mr Rao added.

Mr Rao said that despite the Centre not extending any help to the Telangana IT sector, the state government had taken measures of its own and had set up the IT park in Budwel, spread over 360 acres on the outskirts of the city.
