Probe Pulla Rao and AgriGold link: YSRC

He asked as to why the Speaker could not give him time.

Vijayawada: Leader of Opposition Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has demanded a CBI inquiry under the chairmanship of a high court judge over the involvement of Minister Prattipati Pulla Rao and others in purchasing AgriGold lands, after the registration of cases against the firm.

Speaking to media here on Friday, the Opposition Leader lambasted the government for protecting the minister and for not giving him even 20 minutes to show the evidence in the House.

He showed the media documents supporting his allegations and also reacted sharply to the CM’s words that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy feared that he might lose his job.

“The CM has given MLC job to his son Lokesh and is trying to oust others from their jobs,” he said.

He asked as to why the Speaker could not give him time.

“Does this not show apathy,” he asked.

He questioned why treasury benches got afraid when he only demanded a judicial inquiry and was trying to show the evidence on the Floor of the House.

He said they were going to move no-confidence motion against the Speaker’s unruly behaviour, despite knowing the fact that they need the support of 50 members to move the motion.

“Even then we will move and the Speaker will do just what he did last year when the YSRC moved a no-confidence motion,” he said.

“The CM will ask for adjournment, Kalva Sreenivasulu will accede and the Speaker will adjourn the House. Is this democracy,” Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy questioned.

He also asked as to why the Speaker or the government kept mum when he threw a challenge as to whether they were ready to ask defected MLAs to resign. He alleged that some MPs and Lokesh were involved in AgriGold scam.
