Poll code violated in Badvel, complains BJP

Even though we complained to the police and local authorities about this, they did not initiate any action, said Somu

ANANTAPUR: BJP state president Somu Veeraraju on Saturday alleged minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy is misusing power for mounting pressure on anganwadi workers and gram volunteers to work for the YSRCP candidate in Badvel bypolls in Kadapa district.

Veeraraju has submitted a representation to State Election Commission in this regard.

“Even though we complained to the police and local authorities about this, they did not initiate any action. So, we have complained to the SEC seeking action,” he said.

Meanwhile, BJP state in-charge Sunil Devakar campaigned in some areas of Badvel constituency, declaring that the state has not witnessed any development under the YSRC rule. Only liquor and sand mafias have flourished, he said.

Union minister of state for fisheries Murugan arrived at Badvel in Kadapa district on Friday. He campaigned in the constituency along with BJP leaders Somu Veerraju and Kanna Lakshminarayana, apart from MPs G.V.L. Narasimha Rao and C.M. Ramesh. BJP also organised a road show in Badvel town.
