Dejected DK Shivakumar now eyes KPCC president post

Vokkaliga strongman seems to be pulling the strings to get a plum portfolio in the new ministry besides the KPCC president's post.

Bengaluru: Having lost the deputy chief minister post, Congress working president D.K. Shivakumar let out his anger, meant for the party high command, on KPCC president, Dr G. Parameshwara who became deputy chief minister in the new coalition government.

Party sources said the Vokkaliga strongman seems to be pulling the strings to get a plum portfolio in the new ministry besides the KPCC president’s post.

Mr Shivakumar while speaking to reporters on Wednesday made no bones about his disappointment over the party considering Dr Parameshwara for the DCM post. With an expression of despondency on his face, Mr Shivakumar said he was a loyal worker of the party and would wait for the party to take a call on his new assignment. Without taking the name of Dr Parameshwara, he said, “For the last eight and half years he has been saying he would quit. But he did not.”
