Somireddy brother-in-law joins YSR Congress

The joining of his close relatives into YSRC has allegedly stroked controversies among the Minister's followers and the party.

Nellore: As elections are fast approaching in Andhra Pradesh, the ruling party Telugu Desam received yet another major blow on Wednesday as its senior leader and Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy's brother-in-law and his family shifted their loyalty to YSRC party.

Somireddy’s brother-in-law Kethireddy Ramakota Reddy and his sons Sasidhar Reddy and Kaladhar Reddy from Kavali joined the YSR Congress Party in the presence of party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy at the Lotus Pond in Hyderabad. According to sources, it was said that YSRC MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy had played a crucial role in bringing Ramakota Reddy and his sons to the party.

Somireddy is a senior TD leader and Agriculture Minister, who has been actively rebutting the charges made against Chandrababu Naidu, by the Opposition leaders. Ramakota Reddy was a businessman from Kavali who married Chandramohan Reddy’s own sister. The joining of his close relatives into YSRC has allegedly stroked controversies among the Minister’s followers and the party.

Meanwhile, TDs Rajampeta legislator Meda Mallikarjuna had announced earlier that he was going to join YSRC on January 31. With back-to-back blows by the leaders, who are shifting their loyalty to YSRC, the TD party seems to be irked with strong cadre loss in the state.
