TTV Dhinakaran to file recall plea in Madras HC on Fera ruling

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (EO-II) S. Malarmathy has directed the counsel to file the appeal before March 22 and submit the details.

Chennai: The deputy general secretary of ruling AIADMK and party candidate for the RK Nagar Assembly bypoll, T.TV. Dhinakaran, who was accused by the Enforcement Directorate of laundering money, has informed the additional chief metropolitan magistrate (EO-II), Egmore, that he was busy with the political development and will file a recall petition before the Madras high court.

On March 17, when the matter came up for hearing, Dhinakaran appeared before the ACMM (EO-II) S. Malarmathy and his counsel submitted that they will file an appeal before the Supreme Court against the Madras High Court order.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (EO-II) S. Malarmathy has directed the counsel to file the appeal before March 22 and submit the details. The ACMM has also informed the counsel that if the appeal not filed by March 22, she would take the matter on file and proceedings would be commenced from March 22.

The ACMM has also directed Dhinakaran to be present on March 22. When the matter came up for hearing, Dhinakaran has appeared before the court. Contrary to the earlier stand Dhinakaran’s counsel on Wednesday informed the judge, Malarmathy, that Dhinakaran was busy with the R.K. Nagar bypoll and they would now file a recall petition in the high court. Dhinakaran planning to file his nomination for the RK Nagar bypoll on Thursday. Hence, he sought an adjournment of trial proceedings. Opposing this, M Dhandapani, senior public prosecutor for the Enforcement Directorate, sought the court to post the matter to Thursday for hearing. Later, the judge posted the matter to Friday.
