Supreme Court verdict will be in our favour: BC Patil

Mr Patil blamed former CM H.D. Kumaraswamy and Mr Siddaramaiah for the fall of the last government.

Mysuru: Disqualified MLA B.C. Patil, who along with 16 other former legislators was responsible for the fall of the last Kumaraswamy government, said here on Monday that they expected a judgment in their favour in the Supreme Court and would not only contest the coming byelections but also win them.

Speaking to reporters here, he claimed the disqualified legislators had not yet decided which party they would contest the byelections from once the court gave its verdict.

“We will discuss this and take a decision, but there will be no mid- term polls,” he insisted, calling the former Speaker's move to disqualify all 17 MLAs following their decision to resign from the last assembly, unconstitutional.

On former CM Siddaramaiah's claim that the Congress would win all 15 constituencies, he said, “We were not cows, goats or hens to be purchased (by BJP). Let them come to the battleground and they will know who will win.”

Mr Patil blamed former CM H.D. Kumaraswamy and Mr Siddaramaiah for the fall of the last government, saying the latter had ignored Congress MLAs and the coalition had existed only for the sake of four or five leaders.
