BS Yeddyurappa's charges a bundle of lies: Dinesh Gundurao

It looks like the former CM is putting pressure on the judge who is seized of the matter, Dinesh Gundurao said.

Bengaluru: Terming all charges made by state BJP president B.S. Yeddyurappa as a “bundle of lies”, KPCC working president Dinesh Gundurao on Saturday asked the BJP leader not to belittle himself by making false allegations against the state government.

He said that the issue that Mr Yeddyurappa raised today is pending before the court. “It looks like the former CM is putting pressure on the judge who is seized of the matter. According to my information, none of the ministers are involved in corruption, but Mr Yeddyurappa is talking without sense. He is losing credibility in the eyes of the people.”

He said that the BJP is making a series of “baseless” corruption charges against the Siddaramaiah government. “Mr Yeddyurappa had made several allegations against several Congress leaders, including me, but none of them were proved in court. It has become a habit for Mr Yeddyurappa, especially after he got discharged from hospital. Somebody is instigating Mr Yeddyurappa. Those close to him should advise him not to lose his reputation. The BJP is unable to digest the growing popularity of the Congress government in the state ahead of Assembly elections,” he said.

On Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde asking the government not to print his name on the invitation cards for Tipu Jayanti celebrations, Mr Gundurao said that the BJP has taken an anti-Tipu stance from the beginning. The state is not ready to listen to what Mr Hegde says. The government will go ahead with printing the invitation card with Mr Hegde's name and it is up to him to attend the function or not. “We are not here to do what they say. Since all the schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have failed, the BJP is resorting to such tactics. The BJP’s agenda is to divide society on caste basis, while the Congress believes in taking everyone along with it.”
