BSP stages dharna at Karimnagar collectorate

BSP Karimnagar president N. Ramachandram alleged that a corporator is trying to grab land in Division 21 for a burial ground

KARIMNAGAR: Karimnagar unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Tuesday accused district officials of not resolving problems being faced by people but serving only local Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders.

Addressing a protest dharna in front of the Karimnagar collectorate, district BSP president N. Ramachandram alleged that a corporator is trying to grab land from patta holders in Division 21 of the corporation for constructing a burial ground.
Though they had taken the issue to notice of authorities concerned on several occasions, no action has been taken against the corporator so far.

Pointing to another instance, the BSP district chief said some shelter-less poor families are living with their children by constructing temporary sheds on government land in Ramakrishna colony of Thimmapur mandal. Local TRS leaders are using officials of revenue department to get the place vacated without showing the poor any alternate place to relocate themselves.

Ramachandram wondered why the government has not yet opened gurukul hostels for BC, SC, ST and minorities, even though it has permitted running of hotels, cinema theatres, schools and colleges.

BSP leaders D. Srinivas, B. Kantha, N. Rajendar, S. Mallesham, M. Thirupathi, Raju, M. Mogilaiah, G. Anil Kumar, A. Shirisha, M. Ravinder, J. Swarupa, N. Jamuna, M. Swapna, Ch. Sumalatha, K. Sampath, N. Rajamallu, Md. Sameer, B. Naresh, A. Sudhakar and Sadanandam were among those who participated in the dharna and public meeting.
