KPCC goes for hectic parleys ahead of polls

Mr Ramachandran reiterated his stand in the national capital that there was a certain mechanism on organisational revamp.

Thiruvananthapuram: Despite confusion over the seat-sharing with the youth and women, the KPCC leadership is in a hurry to expedite the election process.

Sudarshan Nachiappan MP, the returning officer, is expected here on Sunday and the youth and women leaders feel the AICC’s central election authority chief Mullapally Ramachandran should act swiftly to accommodate them.

Senior leader A. K. Antony had promised them 50 percent representation from the existing 30. But once he left for New Delhi, the KPCC leadership went back on it, much to their displeasure. Ever since Mr Nachiappan informed the KPCC of his visit, hectic parleys were on between the two factions on seat sharing, much to the chagrin of others.

Though Mr Ramachandran reiterated his stand in the national capital that there was a certain mechanism on organisational revamp, the KPCC leadership has given scant regard to it.

“Mr Nachiappan was supposed to attend the recent high-power political affairs committee meeting here. But KPCC president M. M. Hassan blocked his visit by informing that the PAC was discussing prevailing political situations here and it had nothing to do with the organisational revamping,” said a KPCC general secretary.

Later, the peeved lot of youth and women leaders realised that they were buying time and Mr Antony’s promises would remain false as long as either he or Mr Ramachandran comes out with stern directives.
