Jayalalithaa slams remarks against Mayawati

Chennai: Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on Wednesday slammed BJP leader Dayashankar Singh for using derogatory language against BSP leader Mayawati and said the words used by him are strongly condemnable and would bring disrepute to the BJP.

In a statement here, “Mayawati is respected as the matchless leader of the oppressed community and no one can accept criticising a leader in a derogatory manner for having difference of opinion”.

Women involved in public life had to face such atrocities frequently, she said and recalled that she had been subjected to such experiences in the past.

“My heart melts for Mayawati who has been assaulted by whipping words. Every should be firm that attacks on women politicians should be brought to an end.”
