Bengaluru: Taking objection to the use of words like ‘Khabaristan and Shamshan Ghat' by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Uttar Pradesh election campaign, the JD(S) has asked him not to cross the Lakshman Rekha.
“Prime Ministers come and go, but the office remains forever. By using such words, the PM is lowering the decorum of the PMO,'' said JD(S) National General Secretary Mr Danish Ali on Monday.
Speaking to reporters, Mr Ali said BJP leaders were desperate as they were already sensing defeat in Uttar Pradesh. “If they lose UP, it will affect their representation in the Rajya Sabha as well as their prospects of having their choice in Rashtrapathi Bhavan. That is the reason BJP tried to meddle in the Tamil Nadu crisis. The sole motto of elections should not be to win by any means,'' he said.
The PM speaks about ‘Sab ka saath, sab ka vikas'. However, his party has neglected a community which comprises 20% of the population in UP and has not fielded a single candidate from that community, Mr Ali charged.
