Biju Ramesh finishes fourth

The high court is presently considering a case regarding the Rajadhani building which allegedly sits on a drain.

Thiruvananthapuram: Biju Ramesh, the AIADMK candidate in Thiruvananthapuram, had to settle with 5,762 votes and in the fourth place. His nearest contender S. Sreesanth of BJP had scored 34,764 votes. The liquor baron who was expected to garner a significant number of coastal votes was just ahead of NOTA (None Of The Above) which got 1,435 votes.

Mr Ramesh, who had forced finance minister K.M. Mani's resignation over the bar bribery scam, had slightly got his image dented after one of his buildings was found to be on an encroached land. The high court is presently considering a case regarding the Rajadhani building which allegedly sits on a drain.

Mr Ramesh, who reached out and helped coastal population during high waves, had got a boost to his image after the disaster struck just two days before counting.
