Jagan Mohan Reddy moves AP High Court for CBI probe

Mr Reddy included the TD, Mr Naidu, director-general of police R.P. Thakur and others as respondents.

Vijayawada: YSRC president and Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy filed a petition in the AP High Court on Tuesday seeking a probe by an independent agency, such as the CBI, into the murder of his relative and former Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy.

He alleged that the TD government was trying to suppress the murder by passing it off as a small incident. He alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu using the murder to draw political mileage and defame the YSRC.

Mr Reddy stated that the Andhra Pradesh government appointed Special Investigation Team was of no use and sought justice by appointing an independent agency to investigate the murder.

Mr Reddy included the TD, Mr Naidu, director-general of police R.P. Thakur and others as respondents.

Meanwhile, Republican Party of India working president B. Anil filed a separate PIL in the AP High Court seeking a CBI probe to the Vivekananda Reddy murder. The petitioner claimed that the truth would not come to light with government-appointed SIT.
