Gali Janardhan Reddy will back in politics soon: BJP Lok Sabha member Sriramulu
Ballari: Ballari BJP Lok Sabha member B Sriramulu on Tuesday said his mentor and beleaguered mine baron Gali Janardhan Reddy will be back in active politics shortly.
Speaking to reporters here, Mr Sriramulu said, "Janardhan Reddy told me that he is ready to come back to active politics if I agreed", adding that he is in consultation with the party high command to invite him to the BJP.
He exuded confidence that Janardhan Reddy's presence at his Ballari residence would make a lot of difference to the BJP's poll prospects in Hyderabad Karnataka region.
He, however did not reveal whether Mr Reddy will be contesting the ensuing assembly general elections or not.
It is being speculated that Mr Reddy is keen to contest the coming assembly elections, however the BJP high command is averse to welcome the mining scam tainted Reddy into the party.
Mr Sriramulu is however pressurising the party top brass to give him(Reddy) a ticket to contest the assembly elections since he is a major source of funding for the party and Mr Sriramulu in particular.
The prime accused in the infamous illegal mining scam, Mr Reddy had served three and a half years in prison after the CBI chargesheeted him in the multi- crore mining scam. Reddy who is at present out on bail, is banned from staying in Ballari by the Apex Court and has to obtain the court's permission to visit his home town.
