Tarun Chugh demands criminal case against Kavitha

HYDERABAD: Tarun Chugh, BJP national general secretary and party incharge in Telangana, strongly condemned the attack on Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind's residence on Friday, and demanded that police file criminal cases against the TRS goons" behind the premeditated attack while accusing the TRS leadership of masterminding the "brazen hooliganism.”

The BJP leader demanded that the police file a criminal case against MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter, for threatening to kill an MP by addressing him singularly in an offensive and objectionable language. The TRS government had been resorting to “unconstitutional and violent methods” as a result of the ruling party’s growing unpopularity and dissatisfaction among the people, he said. The TRS leadership, including the Chief Minister, was rattled by the BJP's rising popularity and growth, Chugh claimed.

"TRS goons resorted to brazen hooliganism by ransacking the house of our leader, which was orchestrated by top TRS leadership. It was a premeditated attack carried out as part of a larger plan to intimidate the BJP,” he remarked while stating that such attacks would provide the BJP workers renewed courage and determination to fight the “TRS goons”.

The BJP national general secretary accused the TRS leaders of repeatedly resorting to “violent and murderous attacks” on the BJP leaders, while claiming that in all of these incidents, the police remained silent. He claimed that during the recent Munugodu byelection, a TRS MLC, armed with sticks, attacked BJP MLA Etala Rajendar.

“TRS's attacks on the BJP reflect their frustration because the party can sense the people's anger at their misgovernance and corruption, as well as growing support for the BJP in the state,” he remarked. People of Telangana are watching and waiting for an opportunity to toss the family and their rule into the Bay of Bengal. People who have little regard for democracy resort to violence. Telangana's awakened people would bury the TRS, Chugh said.
