Poachgate: Revanth Reddy urges SIT to record statements of Kavitha

HYDERABAD: Accusing the TRS and BJP of diverting the people's attention by registering cases against each other, TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy on Friday demanded that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the poachgate affair to record statements of MLC K. Kavitha after she admitted that she was lured by BJP leaders to join their party.

Reddy said that the BJP was carrying out ED and CBI raids, while the state government was using ACB, state GST and police for similar purposes. If the government's decisions are questioned, it utilises police to register fake cases against such voices.

"Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao plays a political game by heeding to the words of MLAs who have sold out. Everyone knows how those four MLAs came into the TRS. If the BJP has nothing to do with the poaching case, why did it go to court? Why did it try to get a stay? Kavitha admitted in a press conference that she was asked to join the BJP. SIT officials should record statements of the Chief Minister and Kavitha," Reddy said.

When the Congress was in power, traders and business establishments were not harassed. Even the leaders who defected to other parties were not harassed.

"An environment is now being created in which those who don’t buckle down to their whims and fancies are singled out for harassment," the Congress leader said.

He commented that people’s issues were getting sidetracked. He lamented that there was no discussion on farm loan waiver, procurement of paddy, podu land, double bedroom houses, fee reimbursement, unemployment allowance, Mallanna Sagar and Mid Manair flood victims, Dindi project, and filling up of government vacancies.

Revanth Reddy said that the attack on Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind’s house evidenced that TRS leaders were resorting to attacks because the people of the state have rejected the party.
