Kurnool YSRC MP Butta Renuka joins TDP

Naidu formally welcomed the Kurnool MP and her followers into the party at his camp residence here.

VIJAYAWADA: Kurnool YSRC MP Butta Renuka joined the TD in the presence of party president and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Tuesday.

Mr Naidu formally welcomed the Kurnool MP and her followers into the party at his camp residence here.

Ms Renuka is the second YSRC MP to switch loyalties to the TD, after Mr S.P.Y. Reddy of Nandyal, from Kurnool district.

Party general secretary Anam Ramnarayan Reddy reportedly engineered the defection, and back-office work was taken care of by Rajya Sabha member C.M. Ramesh.

Ms Renuka did not wear the TD’s yellow kanduva but instead paraded important leaders from her constituency and Yemmiganur before Mr Naidu. She said she had not joined TD in the formal sense; she she would be an associate member supporting the policies of Mr Naidu.
