JD(S) state chief HD Kumaraswamy to rebels: Stay away

JD(S) state chief rules out readmitting 8 suspended MLAs.

Bengaluru: State Janata Dal (Secular) President H D Kumaraswamy ruled out taking back the eight suspended legislators into the party again and wished them good luck wherever they are.

Talking to reporters in Ramanagar on Wednesday, he did not want to discuss anything about the suspended MLAs and said action was being taken against them as per party rules.

“They have already crossed the party line by voting for Congress candidates in the recent elections to Rajya Sabha and the Legislative Council when their services were needed by the party. The eight legislators think they are bigger than the party and I wish them best of luck in all their future endeavours".

Taking objection to their diatribe against party supremo and former PM, Mr H.D. Deve Gowda soon after the RS polls, Mr Kumaraswamy said he would not have bothered had they leveled charges against him.

But he was very pained to see the use of harsh words against Mr Deve Gowda who nurtured them politically by giving them poll tickets and making them ministers. These legislators who had said there was no future for JD(S) in the state, are now speaking about the possibility of a coalition government in 2018.

"I did not want to reduce myself by discussing about them. The process of taking action against them has begun by serving notices on them. Our party is yet to recover from the shock that they gave us during the RS polls but we will bounce back with vigour".

The JD(S) leader said the party need not expel those eight legislators as people and party workers would expel them in the next elections. The MLAs had reportedly said that they were not paid by him at all.

He was poor and did not have money to distribute among his party legislators. If they fear remaining in JD(S) and becoming debtors, they were free to go where they get money. Let them get 'strength' from some people who are funding them.

"This time we are firm on our stand and not ready for any compromise. The question of admitting the eight suspended legislators into the party is ruled out".
The JD(S) had suspended eight legislators; Chaluvarayaswamy, Zameer Ahmed Khan, Ramesh Bandisiddegowda, H.D. Balakrishna, Iqbal Ansari, Akhanda Srinivasamurthy, Gopalaiah and Bheemappa Nayak for cross voting in the Rajya Sabha polls and had initiated the process for their disqualification.
