Traffic snarls near Pragati Bhavan trouble commuters

Chief Minister K. Cha-ndrashekar Rao’s bir-thday celebrations lead to chaotic traffic in and around Begumpet.

Traffic movement was stalled or was bumper to bumper on Sa-turday at few roads le-ading to Raj Bhavan, Pragati Bhavan, secretariat and Telangana Bhavan. It was tougher for commuters travelling as they were stuck in traffic snarls as huge traffic congestion was witnessed near Chief Minister’s office wher-ein people in huge numbers came to greet him.

Furthermore an amb-ulance was also seen caught in the traffic congestion at Begumpet.

“I was heading from Begumpet to Secunder-abad and the stretches were choked. Due to the chaotic traffic, people were being allowed from the entrance of camp office which is otherwise close,” a commuter said.

As if weekdays was not enough, this weekend commuters in various parts of the city crawled through the traffic. Stretches like Necklace Road, secretariat, Jubilee Hills check post, Nagarjuna circle, Raj Bhavan, Tank Bund, Begumpet were affected.

However Hyderabad joint traffic commissioner Dr V. Ravinder said, “The congestion was reported only at Begumpet and it was attributed to the visitors thronging in to meet Chief Minister at the Camp office. There was traffic congestion for 40-45minutes.”

As the visitors to the CM camp office were not allowed inside. Once we informed the authorities about the congestion, they allowed the visitors vehicles inside and traffic started flowing smoothly”.

The traffic at secretariat was due to the road relaying work between Indhira Gandhi statue to Telugu Talli statue on NTR Marg. This will continue for another one week.
