TRS ministers, MLAs lobbying for district party president's post

This is because opinion of these office bearers is crucial when they themselves seek re-nomination of their candidature in assembly polls

ADILABAD: With Telangana Rashtra Samiti deadline for district party elections ending on October 25, various TRS MLAs and ministers are lobbying to get their supporters into these posts.

This is because opinion of these office bearers will be crucial when they themselves seek re-nomination of their candidature in the assembly general elections towards 2023 end. District ministers and MLAs are meeting top leaders of the party and giving them bio-data of their associates.

Komaram Bheem Asifabad district zilla parishad chairperson Kova Laxmi and MLA Atram Sakku have proposed a senior leader for the post of district president. Among names doing rounds for district party president’s post are those of Jainoor market committee chairman Bhagavanth Rao and Grandhalaya Samstha chairman Kanaka Yadav Rao. Bhagavanth Rao’s one-year tenure as market committee chairman will come to an end on November 25.

Wankidi ZPTC and senior TRS leader Arigela Nageshwar Rao is also trying for district president’s post and lobbying through a minister belonging to his community.

Senior TRS leader Vallakonda Satyanarayana of Nirmal, who has close relations with Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, is learnt to be trying for Nirmal district president’s post.
