Janata Dal (U) accuses Congress of backstabbing

JD (U) state president MP Veerendra Kumar was absent for the meeting citing health reasons.

Kottayam: The Congress backstabbed candidates from JD(U) in constituencies like Nemam during the Assembly pols, said JD(U) state general secretary Varghese George. He was speaking to reporters at Kottayam after the state committee meeting of the party. “Action should be taken against those who are responsible for the defeat of party candidate at Nemam. There is no compromise regarding this,” Mr Varghese said.

He also expressed displeasure that though a report has been submitted after the defeat of the party candidate in the Palakkad Lok Sabha constituency, no action was taken on that report. JD (U) state president MP Veerendra Kumar was absent for the meeting citing health reasons.
