Khammam: High drama over Congress ticket denial

Krishna got angry after seeing Vanama Raghavender and Ramakrishna and asked them to leave his house.

Khammam: High drama took place in the Congress after Yadavalli Krishna who tried for a party ticket, decided to contest in the election by getting a ticket from the Bahujan Left Front.

As soon as Krishna announced his decision on Thursday in Kothagudem, Kapu Sangham leaders went to his house along with Raghavender and Ramakrishna, sons of Vanama Venkateswara Rao, to appeal him not to contest, keeping caste interests in view.

Krishna got angry after seeing Vanama Raghavender and Ramakrishna and asked them to leave his house. Though the Kapu leaders tried to pacify him, he did not heed their words.

Interestingly, Yadavalli and Vanama Venkateswara Rao were co-brothers and political rivalry has continued between them for the last eight years. At In the melee, Krishna’s wife Susheela also got angry with Raghavender and Ramakrishna. She poured kerosene on herself, warning of self-immolation if the two brothers did not leave her house. Krishna called police and complained that Vanama’s sons were threatening him.

A heated argument took place between Vanama’s sons and Krishna and Kapu leaders. Police led by sub-inspector Mutyam Ramesh rushed to the spot and asked Raghavender and Ramakrishna to leave the place.

Kapu leaders of Paloncha had tried to reduce the rivalry between Krishna and Vanama by organising a meeting between them one month ago. At that time, both of them were trying for the Congress ticket from Kothagudem.

It was agreed between them that the leader who did not get the party ticket would not contest as an independent and would support the other. Krishna joined the BLF and decided to contest from it. Kapu leaders had planned to convince Krishna by forcing Vanama’s sons to apologise to Krishna, but their attempts boomeranged.
