Azharuddin eyes Secunderabad LS seat

He won from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh in 2009, but lost from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan in 2014.

Hyderabad: Former cricketer and Congress leader Mohammed Azharuddin on Sunday said he is keen to contest the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat in 2019.

Though the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee wants him to contest from Hyderabad, to give a tough fight to the MIM in the Old City, and has made a request to the Congress high command in this regard, Mr Azharuddin is not keen on the Hyderabad seat.

He has contested Lok Sabha elections twice, from Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, on a Congress ticket. He won from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh in 2009, but lost from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan in 2014.
