B’luru company gives employees paid time-off to go and vote

Ahead of the elections, Bengaluru-based company iD Fresh has urged employees to cast their votes, even giving them paid time-off to go and vote. Considering that during last year's elections, Bengaluru had the lowest voter turnout in the state with just 51%, iD believes that they have a duty to encourage their employees to vote and hopefully help increase the voter turnout this election.

PC Musthafa, CEO, iD Fresh reached out to over 1500 of his employees across India including Bengaluru to urge them to vote. He has asked them to speak to their managers, re-schedule meetings and reassess professional commitments. Musthafa has said that voting is not just our right but also our responsibility as we get to decide who will take decisions on important issues that affect our lives - healthcare, education, transport, environment, and just about everything.
